Tim’s catalogue of compositions contains everything from beginner woodwind pieces to large scale Orchestral and Choral works, all sharing the common theme of being accessible and appealing to both listener and performer alike. This fact was noted by a recent reviewer in the Church music Quarterly magazine,
‘Tim Knight has the knack of writing music that is enjoyable to listen to and to play’ 

Several pieces have won awards in a variety of competitions including

• 2007 World Music Aid Foundation 
• The recent RSCM Area Composers Competition,
• The 2008 UK Songwriting Contest in association with the BRIT Trust,
• The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters,
• BBC Radio,
• The World Music Foundation

The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers has released  Tim’s award winning Orchestral Pieces:
"Northern Lights, and Portrait of a Capital"

Other awards won include "Elegy for an English Summer" - runner up in the Instrumental category
and the Anthem "God is with you" - Finalist in the Christian Music section.

These recent awards follow the 2006 Masterworks prize issued in the USA for his Orchetsral work Elegy for an English Summer a piece that was sunbsequently recorded by the Czech Philharmonic on the widely available Masterworks of a New Era CD series ( Volume 11). 

In the recording field, Amemptos Uk recently released a CD of new Choral works and two further pieces by Tim were included on this CD ( www.amemptosmusic.co.uk).

This follows a recording of many other works by made in 2006 by the Heritage Singers and Vocalis. As well as being available from a dedicated sales site at www.timknightmusic.com. Tim is also represented by a variety of Publishers including Animus, Corda and Phylloscopus in the UK, Cantica Nova, Adoro Music (USA ) and Wehrs Music House in the USA as well as Orpheus Music in Australia.

Also a selection of Freely Downloadable music appears on the site www.free-scores.com ( This has resulted in 13 000 downloads making Tim's Music in the top 30 of Contemporary Orchestral composers listed there.)

Recently, most of Tim's works have become available from  Spartan Press which does make ordering from shops much easier.

News of future performances appears on the Home page. However already by 2009 there were performances of Requiem by Wakefield Festival Chorus and Vocalis ( Harrogate) The Heritage Singers will be performing some of his sacred music in the Cathedrals of Newport, Sheffield and Manchester and the Harrogate based youth choir, Verse and Chorus will be premiering a new piece written for them. 

These all join a long list of Choirs, Orchestras and distinguished Organ recitalists  who have all performed Tim's music in venues from Tiny Churches to Large Concert Halls both here in the UK and also in Canada, The USA , Holland, Norway, Hungry , New Zealand and Ireland.
